Last Friday, 11th May, my classmates and I went to Plaza de la Alameda de Colón where we participated in the 18th Storytelling Marathon organized by Las Palmas de Gran Canaria's Public Library. There, we listened to stories from other schools and also from professional raconteurs. The characters were really funny and we couldn't stop laughing.
The tales were also romantic and sad in parts. We felt at home as the organizers were very friendly. They told us we were the perfect audience.
Our stories were written by Tommaso, Ana, Dakota and Carmen. Tommaso's Words can Change the World was read by Javi and Oscar in Spanish whilst the author himself translated it into Italian, Teresa into Korean, Álvaro into Euskera and Inés into Galician. Ana's A Wrong Body was read by herself, Carlos and Diego in Spanish, Danny in English, Rachel and Hugo in Chinese, Laura and Denise in Dutch and Darlene in Hindi.
Dakota's A Friend's Words Can Change your Life was really emotive. As was Carmen's You Can Get Anything with a Bit of Faith. All in all, it was simply an unforgettable day.
