BSGC Development Plan Update

School Development Plan

Our School Development Plan (SDP) guides our long-term commitment to providing an exceptional British education, nurturing confident learners, and supporting every child’s wellbeing. The start of 2025–26 has witnessed exceptional and important developments in this plan.

Calm Classrooms Rolled Out

Secondary teachers have now completed training in our new behaviour framework, ensuring calm, focused and respectful learning in every lesson. Students report clearer expectations and a more purposeful classroom atmosphere.

Talk4Writing Making an Impact

Primary pupils are working confidently through full Talk4Writing cycles, from imitation to innovation. Teachers are already seeing strong improvements in vocabulary, structure and writing stamina across the school.

Learning Support Strengthened School-Wide

New whole-school systems for Learning Support are in place, with aligned processes across both campuses. Specialist input from Vohale and staff training in Davis Learning Strategies are helping us meet a broader range of student needs.

More Active Play, Every Week

Voluntary structured breaktime programmes -including Move-it Monday, Work-Out Wednesday and Funky Friday- have boosted are boosting fitness, teamwork and fun in Primary Lunchtime sport, house competitions, leadership programmes further support physical and mental health, with students noticeably more active and engaged outdoors.

Clubs & Activities at Record Levels

With more than 1,250 club places taken this term, participation is at an all-time high. New sports, creative activities and academic clubs - plus expanded lunchtime options - are giving students more choice than ever.

Wellbeing in BSGC

Our wellbeing tools and support systems continue to grow, including YouHQ check-ins, tutor conversations, workshops on healthy habits, and school-wide activities promoting kindness, resilience and belonging.

Trips & Experiences Growing Strongly

A rich calendar of educational visits is confirmed for 2025–26, including Barcelona football, Germany language and history trips, the ski trip, Model united Nations in London and more. These experiences deepen learning and build independence.

Stronger Parent Communication

Families now receive additional touchpoints through a new Year 7 transition meeting, more workshops, and improved newsletters highlighting learning, achievements and upcoming opportunities.
